Savages seems to be going ahead in the right direction as it adds another member to it’s cast. Savages is set to be released September 28, 2012.
Mía Maestro, who next appears in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 as Carmen, has landed a role in Oliver Stone’s Savages.
The actress will play the wife of Benicio Del Toro’s character. She may seem like a typical soccer mom on the outside, but her exterior hides the hardened gang life from her past. Benicio Del Toro plays an enforcer for a Mexican drug cartel, who muscles in on two laid-back Laguna Beach weed growers (Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson) by kidnapping their shared girlfriend (Blake Lively).
I’ve added captures of Aaron’s very small role in The Greatest to the gallery.

Variety also lets us know that A Better Life actor Demian Bichir is currently in talks for Oliver Stone‘s Savages. He’s playing Alex, who they describe as being “a two-timing attorney who works for Salma Hayek‘s cartel.” He’s been receiving some positive notices for his work in A Better Life as of late, while he’s also appeared in the Showtime series Weeds, and played Fidel Castro in Steven Soderbergh‘s Che.
Based on the book of the same name by Don Winslow, it follows two drug dealers in Laguna Beach – played by Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch – who must save their friend, O (Blake Lively) who has been kidnapped by the Mexican drug cartel. Benicio del Toro is playing the main enforcer of the cartel, and Hayek is playing Elena, the woman who looks after O while she’s in their custody. Emile Hirsch has an unspecified part, while Uma Thurman and John Travolta will have a Pulp Fiction reunion here, with the former playing O’s mother, while the latter is appearing as a “burned out DEA agent.”
Clothes Off Our Back is holding a special charity auction and one of the items that they have up is a autographed poster from Nowhere Boy, signed by no other then Aaron himself. You should definitely go check it, amongst the other items that are for sale to help raise money for the Screen Actor’s Guild.

Aaron Johnson must get tired of promoting his movies in the wrong order. Kick-Ass, which was first shown to audiences at 2008?s Butt-Numb-A-Thon, wasn’t released until March 2010 – a year after the release of Nowhere Boy, which he filmed after Kick-Ass. Confused yet?
While promoting Nowhere Boy recently, which is just reaching the United States now, Johnson spoke briefly to Movieweb on the status of Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Walls.
His comments follow both comic-book creator Mark Millar and villain Red-Mist‘s assurances that the movie was happening. Despite such talk – and the $100 million it earnt at the box office – however, there has been some debate as to whether filming might take place.
With director Matthew Vaughn and co-writer Jane Goldman currently at work on X-Men: First Class, Johnson expects filming to commence pending that film’s release. His closing comments, however, were a little less specific.
“I’m letting them just do what they want to do and we’ll come to it when we come to it. But I know that they are doing it.”
All going well, Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall should reach theatres in 2012.
